Marble chips and hydrochloric acid

The rate of reaction between hydrochloric acid and marble chips depends on the temperature, the concentration of the acid and the surface area of marble chips.

You are going to investigate the effect of changing the surface area of marble chips on the rate of this reaction.

This shows how the electronic balance was set up to study the rate of marble chips and acid reaction.
